If you want to set your radio to receive messages from the National Weather Service (NWS) for ALL counties surrounding McDonough county, perform steps A - O below. This is preferred to give advanced warning of a storm approaching McDonough County.
Follow instructions in the manual for installation of the radio, back up battery and antenna to the radio.
B. On the back of the radio move the mode switch from operate to program.
C. Press the 5 key. (This selects the frequency for Macomb 162.500).
D. Press yes then press no. (This will turn on the voice message when a message is received)
E. Press yes 3 times. (This places the radio into the multiple FIPS mode).
F. Press no (LOC 1 appears in display). Press 017109 (code for McDonough Co.) Press yes.
G. Press no (LOC 2 appears in display). Press 017001 (Adams Co.) Press yes.
H. Press no (LOC 3 appears in display). Press 017169 (Schuyler Co.) Press yes.
I. Press no (LOC 4 appears in display). Press 017067 (Hancock Co.) Press yes.
J. Press no (LOC 5 appears in display). Press 017071 (Henderson Co.) Press yes.
K. Press no (LOC 6 appears in display). Press 017187 (Warren Co.) Press yes.
L. Press no (LOC 7 appears in display). Press 017057 (Fulton Co.) Press yes.
M. Change the switch on the back of the radio to operate and back to program.
N. Press the yes button 4 times. Now the display will flash between LOC 1 and the code entered for this location. It should be the same code as E. above.
O. If OK press yes and LOC 2 will be displayed. Continue to check all 7 locations (steps E -K above) to be sure the correct FIPS codes were entered.
P. If all codes are entered correctly, change the mode switch on the back of the radio to operate. Replace the cover over the keypad and the radio is ready for operation. Follow operation procedures for the radio in the manual.
To program the radio to receive ONLY messages for McDonough county, follow steps A - F then step M. Replace the cover on the keypad and the radio is ready for operation.
