The Hare House (bad picture)

The Hare family lives in Macomb, Illinois. Our 1856 Greek Revival home has undergone extensive remodeling to make it more like a country home suitable for a family of six. We are constantly working on some home project. This home was built by the editor of the first Macomb newspaper. This is only half the house--the other half is located nearby.

We (Kevin and Terri) are natives of Macomb. As the cliché goes, it's a nice place to live and work. Macomb is home to Western Illinois University and the fighting Leathernecks, which is the only public university in the nation authorized to use this Marine nickname. The population of Macomb is approximately 10,000 without the college students, and 19,000 with the students.

We have four children: Kate, Nick, Brett, and Morgan. As you can imagine, they keep us busy with sports and school functions. The girls love music and tumbling; the boys are into sports, and are avid football card collectors. The house is split between Cub and Cardinal fans, as we are equally 3 1/2 hours away from either Chicago or St. Louis. The Cub/Cardinal rivalry is strong in Macomb.

Kevin is an avid hunter and fisherman, and is a staff writer for the OutdoorFrontiers website. He is also assisting with marketing efforts of the OutdoorFrontiers television show.  I am working on my Master's Degree in Instructional Technology and Telecommunications, as well as being a Tastefully Simple gourmet food consultant and staff writer for the OutdoorFrontiers website. We each work full time in Macomb.
