Cynthia arrived in PHX, drove to meet Erin at Grand Canyon National Park

Activities: Grand Canyon wander and chill

Lodging: Camped at Mather Campground

Sun 10/5

Grand Canyon/Antelope Canyon --> PICTURES

Activities: Hike around GC Rim/ Tour Upper Antelope Canyon

Lodging: -- Stayed in Tipi at Utah Trails Resort , Highway 89, 2 miles East of Kanab Kanab,UT 1-800-871-6811

Meals: a MONSTER Veggie burrito in Page -- we didn't even eat dinner...

Mon 10/6

Drove to Bryce National Park via Red Canyon and a stop at Kodachrome State Park

Activities: Drove Kanab to Bryce - 78 miles through Red Canyon, stopped at Mossy Cave and Waterfall and then hiked in Kodachrome State Park

Lodging: -- Camped at Bryce's Sunset campground

Bryce National Park

Activities: Hiked the Fairyland Loop (8 miles) and checked into the Lodge

Lodging: Stayed at the Bryce Canyon Lodge

Meals: Dinner at Bryce Lodge

Wed 10/8

Bryce to Zion National Park

Activities: Got up for sunrise - very nice to see the sunlight illuminating the canyon. We hiked the Navajo/Wall Street/Queen's Garden Loop. We also drove the entire park and made rim stops. We left Bryce around 1ish and drove to Zion in time for a quick stop at the Visitor Center to get hiking info.

Lodging: Camped at Zion's Watchman campground - very nice site- next time stay in D loop 15-21 -close to the mountain

Thu 10/9

Zion National Park

Driving: Bryce to Zion 86 miles OR Bryce to Zion via Cedar Breaks Natl Mon. (Bryce to Cedar City 73 miles & Cedar City to Zion 59 miles - 132 miles total)

Activities: Riverwalk hike with a Ranger - saw a skunk and rare snails, saw Weeping Rock, hike Walter's Wiggles and Angel's Landing up to Scout's Landing. Day Hike Trails info

Lodging: Stayed in Zion's Watchman campground

Notable Meal: Pizza and Noodle outside the park - good food and local Utah microbrew - Polygamy Porter on tap.

Fri 10/10

Zion area/Las Vegas

Driving: Zion to Las Vegas 160 miles

Activities: Explored Emerald Pools - Upper pool is a great lunch spot for next time, after Emerald pools we drove to Las Vegas by early afternoon. Next time I'll plan to hike the Zion Narrows - maybe an overnighter

Lodging: Las Vegas - Best Western Mardi Gras good location to the airport and the strip but Las Vegas is DEATH!!!

Notable Meal: Great Indian Dinner at Gandi Restaurant on the same street as our hotel.
