A Summary of an Ongoing Amber Game

The Story Line

It is 30 years after the coronation of Random as King of Amber. There is a celebration to honor Random, and most of the family has returned for the festivities. Many other family members start coming out of the woodwork, some of whom are friendly, most are not. Everything that happened in the first five books has happened, and selected events from the Merlin books are currently taking place

The Players

Logan, son of Corwin
Logan is played by Craig Bishop (the creator of this page). He is the son of Corwin and Queen Moire of Rebma. If you have read Nine Princes of Amber, then you read about his conception. His existence was kept secret until Random's coronation, since Corwin thought that Eric or one of the other elders might use him to their advantage. Logan prefers to be in Shadow rather than staying in Amber. Of his generation, he is ranked first in Endurance, second in Psyche, and ranked in Warfare and Strength. Some of his current problems come from the Courts of Chaos who have attacked him from time to time to try to take out Corwin's Pattern. He is also one of the Amberites who recently discovered Avaelon, another "real" creation of Dworkin. He looks like Adrian Paul (Highlander TV Series).

TRUMP: Sitting on a log by a large river with the sun setting in the background. It is a side profile and when contact is made, his head turns to face the caller.

Thadeus, son of Gérard
Thadeus is played by Mark Bishop. He has spent most of his young adult life serving in Amber's Navy under his father Gérard. He is most known for staging an attack on Random so that he could infiltrate Lord Coriman's forces. His strongest attribute is Warfare. He is known to have armor that protects him from nearly all forms of mental attacks. He looks like a young Dick Van Dyke. His Trump is him standing on a beach, holding a sword, with a ship at sea in the background.
Logan's thoughts on Thadeus: He can't be as stupid and naive as he seems, although he is Gérard's son.

TRUMP: Standing on a beach with a ship in the background.

Doré, son of Bleys
Doré is played by Sean Genovese. He is ranked first is strength, and is know to have Trump Artistry and perhaps even Mastery. He created all the trumps of our generation, except for Martin and Merlin's. Doré seems to be somewhat of a simpleton compared to the other Amberites. He is in general a peaceful guy. He is typically seen meditating. He looks like Arnold Swartzenager with dark hair.
Logan's thoughts on Doré: He's always so peaceful. Almost too peaceful. I wonder if there is another, more violent side of him?

TRUMP: Standing in a doorway. On the doorway, there is a series of symbols. Doré has one hand on his waist; the other is holding a goblet.

Colin, son of Julian
Colin is played by David Bishop. He is fairly high ranked in Warfare and Strength. A lot of what Colin deals with is his brother Mordred. Mordred was accused of killing their brother Pierce when they were younger. Colin also discovered Avaelon, while there he bathed in their Fount Of Fire (the Power source of Avaelon, similar to the Pattern or Logrus) and gained new powers. He looks like Kevin Sorbo (TV's Hercules), and is known as The Dragon of Amber for his heroics in killing a dragon earlier in his life.
Logan's thoughts: Enough with the frickin' dragons. We all know you once killed one, but now I am tired of hearing about them. Let's move on with our lives.

TRUMP: In a wooded area, standing with one foot on a slain dragon.

Mordred, son of Julian
Mordred is played by Nate Tex. He is ranked first in both Psyche and Warfare. In his early years, he was accused of killing his brother Pierce. He has always denied this, but he was exiled from Amber for many years. He has recently returned. Since returning, he has been a general pain in the ass, wiping people's memory of him, attacking people for no apparent reason, etc.
Logan's thoughts: Other than "why don't you just go away," Logan thinks that Mordred is very insecure with himself, afraid to let anyone know him, or allow himself to know others.

August, son of Random
August is played by Randy Hardin. Unlike Martin, August has accepted his role as the king's son. He is known for his intrigue, and always likes to know what everyone else is up to.
Logan's thoughts: August is very smart and potentially even cunning. Too bad he has too many official responsibilities. He needs to get away and have some fun once in a while.

Cirrus, daughter of Random
Cirrus is played by Karen Peitzmeier. With August taking care of a lot of the family responsibilities, she has spent much of her time in the Forest Arden with Julian's rangers. She is known to have a pet cat/dragon. Her Warfare and Strength are highly respected.
Logan's thoughts: She is the opposite of August. Always doing her own thing, and doesn't appear to have, or at least doesn't care about, any princessly duties.

Gabrielle, daughter of Llewella
Gabrielle is played by Julie Hannen. She spends much of her time in Rebma, working with her mother and Queen Moire. She is known for having great strength, and her skill with a sword is better than most. She looks like René O'Conner (Gabrielle on Xena, except her hair is black with a blue tint.
Logan's thoughts: Gabrielle is my closest relative. I've known her the longest, and if I were to trust anyone, it would be Gabrielle.

TRUMP: It looks like LLewella's, except she is turning the other way. In a dress in front of a table with a statuette looking back over her left shoulder.

Morgan, son of Caine
Morgan is played by Pete Hannen. He is known for his knowledge and mastery of the Pattern. It is widely believed that he has some way of watching all of us at once and somehow record our every move.
Logan's thoughts: He can get on my nerves with his know-it-all attitude. Although, he sometimes does know more than the rest of us.

Jericho, son of Benedict
Jericho is played by Rod. He is known for preferring to be in Shadow than in Amber.
Logan's thoughts: I really don't know Jericho very well. It would be fun to roam through Shadow with him and get to know him.

Cole, son of Caine
Cole is played by Doug Billingsly. He is somewhat of a dark individual who is intrigued with Amberites that are missing or dead.
Logan's thoughts: Cole can be quite frightening. He is the quiet type, and always has a somber expression on his face. It takes quite an effort to get to know him. I am still in that process.

Aden, son of Bleys
Aden is played by Brent Harzman. Aden is very much to opposite of Jericho. He rarely ventures into Shadow and spends most of his time in Amber. More to the point, it seems that he rarely ventures outside of the library. He dresses mostly in dark blue tones and looks like a young Matthew Broderick.
Logan's thoughts: I have met Aden perhaps twice. Each time, Aden was not particularly outgoing. And again, there is something about the quiet types that scares me.

Gaheris, eldest son of Oberon
Gaheris is played by Mark Tippett. Gaheris has just recently shown up in Amber. He has a Pattern Blade and has walked the Pattern. He claims to be the eldest of Oberon's children, and has claimed the title Lord Protector of Amber.
Logan's thoughts: I like Gaheris, and I think the feeling is mutual. I was the one who helped him get his memory back and his eventual return to Amber. Gaheris seems quite powerful, but I sense some sort of vulnerability there also. He'll continue to be all right in my book as long as he doesn't try to sacrifice me or my cousins in order to erase the Pattern.

Gawayne, son of Flora
Gawayne is played by Russ Anderson. He has dual heritage as his father is from the Courts of Chaos. He is known to have Shapeshifting and the imprint of the Logrus.
Logan's thoughts: Other than the fact that Gawayne has tried to kill me on several occasions, I like the guy. I would not hire him as an assassin as he has not been very successful at it. It is good to see that instead of killing, he is simply beating the crap out of people now.

Conrad
Conrad is played by Jeff Calhoun. Conrad is a very successful businessman in Amber, most likely with underworld connections. There is speculation that Conrad is a family member, but his parentage is not common knowledge.
Logan's thoughts: Conrad has a wide information gathering network, and that can be beneficial to Amber. The question is: where are his loyalties?

TRUMP: He looks like Donald Trump, wearing a suit and tie, stepping out of an elevator with a brief case in one hand.

Joshua, son of Fiona
Joshua is played by Jim Grover. Joshua one day showed up in Amber, and was claimed to be Fiona's son. Then he vanished and has not been heard from since. Most rumors say that he is in Shadow learning of his parentage. Joshua looks like Mario VanPeeples and his colors are black and pink.
Logan's thoughts: Who? Oh yeah, I sort of remember him. He didn't smell bad and he didn't try to kill me, so I guess he's OK. But what's the deal with wearing pink all the time?

TRUMP: Sitting at a computer. Casual dress. Smoking a cigarette

The NPC's

Coriman
Coriman is a non-player character (NPC). At the start of the game, he led an attack on Amber. It is thought that he is a family member, perhaps Eric's son, since he personally fought with Benedict for an entire night and survived. Since, he has signed a peace treaty with Amber and seems to be on friendly terms.
Logan's thoughts: A somewhat powerful guy, but not necessarily the smartest. Attacking Amber?

Maddox
Maddox is Doré's servant. He is always willing to help out any Amberite, and does so in a very friendly manner. He is an older gentleman, perhaps in his late 60's.
Logan's thoughts: No offense to Simon, but Maddox is perhaps the most useful servant in the Palace.

Simon
Simon is Logan's personal servant. When Logan is out of Amber, Simon tries to keep up on current events for him.
Logan's thoughts: Hey, he keeps the place pretty clean and I always get my messages. He's all right.

Lord Hendon
Lord Hendon is the editor of the Amber Inquirer. He is more like J. Johna Jameson (sp?) (Spiderman) than Perry White (Superman).
Logan's thoughts: An entertaining little paper. Just don't believe everything you read.

Morgrin, son of Oberon
A NPC. Morgrin is Gaheris' brother. Evidence of his existence has been discovered, but he has not been seen in Amber since before Benedict was born. Most likely an enemy of Amber.
Logan's thoughts: A legitimate threat to Amber.

Garion
A NPC. A mysterious figure, also thought to be a relative. He never shows his face, and his sword skills are equal to those of an above average Amberite.
Logan's thoughts: Garion is very mysterious. I visited him once, and I can only assume that Amber is keeping an eye on him.

Cassandra
A NPC from the House of Sawall in the Courts. Thought to be the best assassin from the Courts. She is currently working with Gaheris. She looks like a vampirish woman.
Logan's thoughts: An assassin from the Courts? I think it's time to take a little vacation.

Dorthea
A NPC. Dorthea is Gaheris' wife. She is a powerful sorceress.
Logan's thoughts: She once saved me from an attack by Gawayne. She is someone who definitely has my attention and respect.

Nobis
A NPC. Nobis also hangs around Gaheris. She is pale looking and is cold to the touch. It is rumored that she is in fact a dragon.
Logan's thoughts: I have never really met her. Colin seemed to be a little freaked out after he met her.

Gaheris' other minions
There are two other people that hang out with Gaheris. One is a very good-looking woman with red hair. She dresses like a very well to do merchant. The other is a big strong looking guy.
Logan's thoughts: I don't know much about them. In a way, I really don't want to find out. If I do, though, I'll be more than happy to give you my opinion.

Fane
A NPC. Fane is rather interesting. He was "constructed" by mages on some Shadow to kill these weird alien creatures called "GooGuys." He has limited ability to move through Shadow in order to find GooGuys anywhere in creation. It is rumored that he has a Pattern Blade. Logan's thoughts: I spent an afternoon killing GooGuys with him once. Then we sat down for coffee and conversation. I kinda like him.

Corwin
Corwin is rarely seen in Amber. In fact, he hasn't been "officially" in Amber since Random's coronation. It is thought he is busy with his own Realm and shadows created by his Pattern. Logan's thoughts: I like Corwin. He's always treated me like a son.

Bleys
Bleys has recently returned to Amber when he found out that King Random had disappeared with the Jewel. He has claimed the position of Prince Regent and seems to have the support of most of his siblings while Random is away. Logan's thoughts: Of all the elders, I may have the most respect for Bleys. He is perhaps the second best with a sword, but is also quite talented in the arts of Trump and sorcery.

Julian
Julian is currently missing. It is rumored that he and Gérard had a falling out and Julian got the worst of it.
Logan's thoughts: Logan has never liked Julian. This is probably because Julian has always treated Logan like a piece of crap. Then again, perhaps Logan may have deserved it.

Gérard
Gérard is currently away from Amber. It is thought that he is depressed after his clash with Julian.
Logan's thoughts: I like the fact that I always know where I stand with Gérard. I try to stay on his good side-I don't want him ever to have reason to rip my arms off.

Benedict
Benedict is still the reliable defender of Amber. He led Amber's forces in repelling the attack from Coriman, and is currently filling in for Julian in Forest Arden.
Logan's thoughts: He's always around when Amber needs him. It's a good thing that he is on our side.

Caine
Caine has been spending much of his time away from Amber, although he does make an occasional appearance to check up on everything.
Logan's thoughts: Caine has too much free time. Maybe if he had a hobby, then he wouldn't spend so much time plotting and scheming.

Random
The current King of Amber. He has a casual style of ruling and it is thought that he is well liked and even respected by his family members. Currently he is missing, having disappeared while walking the Pattern. Logan's thoughts: I like his style. When he puts you off, he does it in a way that somehow makes you feel good. I hope he returns soon.

Brand
It is thought that Brand is dead. No one has heard from him since Caine shot him with the silver arrow and he fell into the Abyss.
Logan's thoughts: I hope he stays dead.

Eric
Eric was killed in defending Amber from the Courts of Chaos when they used the Black Road. There is an occasional rumor that he actually survived, but none of the rumors have ever been proven to be true. Logan's thoughts: Corwin and Eric always feuded. Corwin thinks that he and Eric were very much alike. Perhaps, then, I would like him. I wonder if he'd treat me like a son if he were still around?

Florimel
Florimel is currently Amber's top Negotiator. Whenever a sensitive diplomatic matter arises, Flora usually takes care of it. It is rumored that she is currently in Avaelon trying to clean up the mess left by Colin, Cole, Morgan, Doré, and Logan.
Logan's thoughts: She always seems to be on the winning side. I wonder how she does that.

Fiona
Fiona is still highly respected for he mental prowess. Her skills at sorcery and Trump are thought to be unmatched. She doesn't spend a lot of time in Amber, but had been known to show up just in time to save someone's neck.
Logan's thoughts: I would never get Aunt Fi mad at me. I really don't want to spend my life as a toad, worm or worse.

Llewella
Llewella is still somewhat of a mystery. She spends most of her time in Rebma, but somehow always knows everything that happens in Amber.
Logan's thoughts: Since she is a very close advisor of my mother, I have to like her. I've always wondered how she comes to know everything.

Merlin
Merlin is usually off doing his own things and dealing with his own problems. Lately he has been seen with a guy named Luke who is apparently Brand's son. He is known to be a trump artist and an accomplished sorcerer. Really an odd sort of fellow, but he is friendly in his own unique way.
Logan's thoughts: He has always treated me like a brother. No, he's always treated me like a friend. I just hope he can keep himself out of trouble.

Martin
Martin has almost totally isolated himself. Very little is known about what he does with himself other than the fact that he has practically no dealings with anyone else in the family.
Logan's thoughts: Give us a chance, Martin. We all aren't like Brand.

Ghostwheel
Not really a character, but it seems that it slowly is becoming one. Ghostwheel is a creation of Merlin's, and it seems to have developed a mind and will of its own.
Logan's thoughts: There's always a chance that Ghostwheel will get you out of a jam. But, there's also always the chance that Ghostwheel will get you into a jam. Merlin's going to have to discipline the thing eventually.

Dworkin
The creator of the Pattern of Amber and the Fount in Avaelon; the Father of Amber. In Avaelon, he is known as Urtho. He is still somewhat eccentric and perhaps even insane. He has not been seen in Amber for several years, but some have claimed that they have seen him in Shadow.
Logan's thoughts: I saw Dworkin once. It was at the same time a dream come true and a nightmare. Sometimes I think that Dworkin is just toying with us.

Dara
Spending all of her time in the Courts these days, she is sometimes overlooked in Amber. This probably suits her just fine. With no one watching, she is free to plot and scheme at her leisure.
Logan's thoughts: Corwin at the same time respected, loved, hated, and despised Dara. Someday I would like to meet her and find out what she's really like.

Mandor
A powerful figure in the Courts, and therefore a potential enemy of Amber. Little is known of him. Logan's thoughts: The bastard sent things to attack me. I'm sure he had his reasons, but I can't help but hold a grudge.

Swayvill
The current, although ailing, King of the Courts of Chaos. He has held the throne for a long, long time, but it appears that his reign is about to end due to his failing health.
Logan's thoughts: Don't know much about him except everyone has at least some respect for him.

Claire
Claire was the first person that hinted at the possibility of Avaelon. She was encountered between Amber and Begma. She has blonde, almost white hair and carries two pistols among other weapons.
Logan's thoughts: When thinking about Claire, my first thought is that she can be quite dangerous. Then I think of Doré calling her "Pistollerina" and I start to chuckle.

Finvaerra
The current King of Avaelon, the brother of Oberon, a son of Dworkin. He has been very ill for the past thirty years. His illness may be due in part to the damage done to the Fount of Fire. One of his son's, Rhiothamus, is currently attending to the duties of running the kingdom.
Logan's thoughts: While in Avaelon, I never had the privilege to meet him. My guess is that he is pretty much like Oberon was.

Malardrian
Dworkin's brother and caretaker of the Fount of Fire in Avaelon. He, like Dworkin, has moments of near insanity. Despite this, his knowledge and skills make him a very useful.
Logan's thoughts: On his good days, Malardrian is a charming old man. On his bad days, he's more like a blubbering idiot. I have learned, though, that when he seems to be insane, he just might mention something that could prove to be very important.

Destiny
A competent warrior in armor and a lovely lady in a dress. She spends most of her time guarding the Fount. She is the type that attacks first and then asks questions, that is, if there's anything left to answer.
Logan's thoughts: Hey, sometimes a guy has to keep personal information private.

Jaelle
Jaelle doesn't seem to be the warrior type, but rather the sorceress type. She usually tends to ask questions first, and then take action.
Logan's thoughts: She was very friendly and helpful when I visited Avaelon the first time. She was the first person to welcome us to Avaelon.

Nicodemus
A well-rounded individual. He helped Colin return to Amber, and then spent some time "studying" the Pattern.
Logan's thoughts: He's almost too smooth and charming. He can probably get you to tell him anything without you even knowing it.

Voritgern
One of Finvaerra's first children. In his younger years, he was banished from Avaelon. It doesn't seem that he is a nice guy.
Logan's thoughts: What I read of him, he should be feared.

Vortimer
A son of Vortigern. He recently attacked Destiny and several guards at the Fount and defeated them all. He probably shouldn't be taken lightly.
Logan's thoughts: Yeah, he did wipe out several guards and then defeated Destiny, which kinda pissed me off. But then Aunt Flora taught him a thing or two about how to use a sword and put him in his place.

Other NPC's
From Amber, there are always possible NPC's that could show up. Either they haven't yet, or we are just not aware of them. These include, but are not limited to Delwin, Sand, Osric, and Finndo. Of course there's always the possibility of someone else from the Courts showing up like Merlin's brother Jurt. And since we have only recently rediscovered Avaelon, there are potentially many others that we could one day meet.

The Places

Amber
As in the books, Amber is the one true city. Or is it?

Avaelon
Another Primal realm. Created by Dworkin before Amber. The Power source of Avaelon is a Fount of Fire. Currently the Fount is damaged. The king of Avaelon is Oberon's brother, Finvaerra, who has been bed ridden for nearly 30 years. The Prince Regent is Rhiothamus during the king's illness. Dworkin's brother, Malardrian, is the caretaker of the Fount. The symbol for Avaelon is the Phoenix.

The Courts of Chaos
The Courts in the game is pretty much like the description in the book.
